This self-taught artist comes from a creative family, but never imagined she could live as an artist full time. After studying Journalism in college and graduating with a Masters Degree in Management and Marketing, she decided to leave her life behind and hop on a plane to the United States. She sold her very first painting in a grocery store parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia, and it was there that she realized that she could pursue her life as an artist here in the US.
Marta works almost exclusively in watercolor and truly believes that the nature of her style is based on this unexpected, fluid medium. She's mostly interested in contrast, distortion, sadness, runny colors, kitsch and obscure pink. Her work is sometimes uplifting, sometimes melancholic, other times abstract, but always emotionally engaging, or so she hopes.
V E R Y M A R T A is Marta's brand name. She uses water media to create scarves, ceramics, fine art and more by making art wearable, useable, beautiful and unique.
