About the Artist

karen harris

Karen Swartz Harris is the creative force behind the design studio–ize on design. Originally hailing from the Washington DC metro area, she currently resides in Northeast Ohio. She holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia and has had a successful career in commercial interior design, product design and contract furnishings. Karen exhibits a unique style influenced by her love of modernism and 20th century art, architecture & graphics. Her signature silhouettes and motifs are derived from her original freehand ink drawings and are translated to two-dimensional surface design and three-dimensional objects.
